Musicians in profileAndrew Morris (piano, composer)is a freelance teacher, performer and composer. His Infinite Fragments for piano was premiered by Joanna MacGregor, and his Inner Light for string trio was commissioned for the opening of the Lion Ballroom in 1997 and performed by the Beethoven String Trio of London. He wrote the music for the extended music-theatre piece Globetrotter’s Ball produced at the Hereford Courtyard (2000). He began working on the Musical Remedies in March 2004, since when there have been numerous concerts including some of the Remedies in various arrangements. Altogether, some 24 of the Remedies have now been realised in performance. Benedict Garman (drums on 7 Musical Remedies)studied at Chetham’s School in Manchester before going to the Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2007. He plays in numerous jazz groups and is also a composer. You can watch and hear a video for one of his pieces Mikey Kirkpatrick (flute on 7 and 11 Musical Remedies)studied at Goldsmiths’ College in London from 2003 – 2006. He now works as a freelance musician in London and also jointly runs Avocado Music. He always has several creative projects on the go, and you can find out more at avocadomusic.com and skanlive.com Oliver Sellwood (alto sax on 7 and 11 Musical Remedies)studied music at the University of Sussex from 2004 – 2007. He is now working for a postgraduate degree in composition in London. You can hear him perform with A Sweet Niche Olivia Tebbutt (vocals on 7 Musical Remedies)Olivia works substantially within the culture, heritage and foundations sector, having advised on the appointments of the Principals of the Royal Welsh College of Music and the Royal Northern College of Music amongst other roles in the performing arts sphere. You can download an mp3 of Olivia’s from beemp3.com. Antoine Olivier (bass on 7 Musical Remedies)studied music at Goldsmiths College from 2003 – 2006. He is currently playing in the ‘Cranbrook Symphony Orchestra’ and the Uckfield based big band ‘Swingshift’. He also does plenty of session work on Double bass and electric bass, currently with the singer song-writer Nila Raja, and the composer Oliver Sellwood. Sam Dixon (drums on 11 Musical Remedies)moved from Hereford to study commercial music at Bath University and is now much in demand as both teacher and performer. David Etheridge (bass on 11 Musical Remedies)is a teacher, performer and recording engineer based in Malvern. Emily Davies (vocals on 11 Musical Remedies)is a singer/songwriter currently based in Bath. He works on a freelance basis with many orchestras, having at one time been a member of the Royal Opera House Orchestra in Covent Garden.
