The discerning audience were very enthusiastic about the programme and performance, and one person told Andrew that he felt the Musical Remedy compositions deserved some radio broadcasts. November 2011I can now confirm that Andrew and Kristine will be running a two day Flower Remedy music/drawing exploration course in London on May 5th/6th 2012. The focus will be on the remedies that make up the Five Flowers or Rescue Remedy. This will be held at the London Buddhist Arts Centre in Bethnal Green and run from 1030 – 1630 each day. There will also be a complete Bach to Bach concert at the same venue on the Saturday early evening. Before that, there will be a Bach to Bach concert in the Assembly Rooms in Presteigne on 28th January 2012. Again, more details to follow soon. September 2011You can see Andrew Morris featuring as pianist in a TV programme about the Regency which was broadcast on Monday September 5th at 9pm on BBC4. This programme is currently available by the I Player. September 2011The first Musical Remedy retreat has just been held in Snowdonia. Led by Andrew Morris and Kristine Janson the retreat looked in depth at three of the Remedies – Clematis, Impatiens and Rock Rose Andrew played the music along withe associated Bach Preludes and Fugues, and Kristine led a series of art exercises.All in the context of developing a simple mindfulness practice. The retreat was very much appreciated by all eight people present. Next stop Spain where we have a Musical Remedy retreat along similar lines from 22nd – 26th October. Do get in touch soon if you would be interested in attending. June 2011The recordings from the concert in Cluj are now available for download from this website. On June 11th Andrew will play a selection from the Bach to Bach programme during a Pianothon at the Assembly Rooms in Presteigne. He will be playing between 9 and 10pm May 2011The Musical Remedies concert in Cluj was a great success. Andrew was given a standing ovation and awarded an honorary diploma of the Romanian Association of Gemmotherapy and Homeopathy. The concert consisted of piano versions of all the Twelve Healers, each piece paired with a prelude and Fugue from The Well Tempered Clavier by Johann Sebastian Bach. Bach to Bach! May 2011The pilot evening at the Granary was a great success, Fifteen people came and joined in the meditaiton/music/drawing ecxperience of the Cerato remedy and there was some very positive feedback. In August the next phase of this part of the project will happen in Snowdonia – do get in touch if you might be interested in coming! April 2011On 26th April there will be a pilot evening held at the Granary, South Street, Leominster where Kristine and Andrew will present an innovative exploration of the Cerato remedy. There will be meditation, music and a specially devised drawing exercise. Another of Andrew’s composiitons, Ode to Joy, will receive its first performance in a concert given by the Britten Singers at All Saints Church Hereford on Friday May 6th. Meanwhile Andrew is practising for the Bach to Bach concert in Cluj, Romania on May 20th. Later in the year, there are plans for a Musical Remedies mini-retreat in Snowdonia at the end of August and a return visit to the Costa Blanca in Spain towards the end of October. February 2011 – Developing plansBetween February 18th – 21st Andrew again met with Kristine Janson to take the project forward. Since October 2010 Andrew has been exploring a link between some of the J.S.Bach Preludes and Fugues from the Well Tempered Clavier and the Flower Remedies. This has now crystallised into a programme for a concert which will consist of piano versions of the Twelve Healer Remedies interspersed with Preludes and Fugues from the WTC which reflect the transformations of the Remedy pieces. Kristine has been developing art therapy exercises to match the different remedies in the Twelve Healers and an initial pilot evening will be held in Leominster on April 26th. Joanne Sumner who runs a Bach Practitioner training course in London is looking at possibilities to include a Musical Remedies concert in May. On May 20th Andrew has been invited to do a Musical Remedies concert in Cluj, Romania as part of a conference of gemmotherapists. December 2010 – A new collaborationBetween December 8th – 11th Andrew met with Kristine Janson, an art therapist and Mindfulness Trainer, with a view to developing a Musical Remedies retreat. It was decided to focus initially on the Twelve Healers, and Andrew is now developing solo piano versions of all twelve Remedy pieces. September 2010 – More performancesOn September 2nd Andrew Morris gave a recital of Musical Remedies at the Emerging Christianity conference at Swanwick, Derbyshire. This was attended by over thirty people at the end of a very full day at the conference. There will be an evening concert to include several Musical Remedies alongside a rare performance of Andrew Morris’s Seasons of Zen Spirit at the Lion Ballroom in Leominster on Saturday September 18th at 7.30pm. August 2010 – performance of Musical Remedies at Dartingtonon August 10th Andrew Morris gave a recital of Musical Remedies in the Ship Studio as part of the Dartington International Summer School. Also the two new violin and piano pieces Gorse and Heather, and two for clarinet and piano, Star of Bethlehem and White Chestnut. All these new recordings are now available on the website. There are now versions of 33 out of the 38 Musical Remedies available on this site. A CD of the 14 new recordings made at the Hatch Studio will be available within the next few weeks. March 2010 – Performances of new versions of Gorse and HeatherGeorge Ewart (violin) and Andrew Morris (piano) gave the first performances of the new versions of Gorse and Heather at a concert promoted by the Elgar in Hereford group at Hellens, Much Marcle, Herefordshire February 2010 – solo piano concert in SpainSixteen of the Musical Remedies were performed by Andrew Morris at a concert at the Dome in Alcalali on the Costa Blanca. There were several practitioners of the Bach Flower Remedies amongst the audience, and the pieces were very well received. This was the largest solo piano presentation ever. December 2009 – Major Remedies concert in LeominsterEighteen Musical fremedies were performed in a major concert at the Lion Ballroom in Leominster. Several recordings from this concert are now available for download from this website. July 2009 – New versions of 7 Musical Remedies for trumpetNew versions of the following Remedies have now been prepared for trumpet, piano, bass and drums. The aim is to perform these for the first time in December 2009, and some recordings of these will be available on the website.
