FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)About MP3sQuestion:“”What exactly is an MP3, and what exactly do I get if I buy one?
Answer:
An MP3 file is the most popular and widely supported way of keeping, downloading and playing music on a computer. You can play them on your computer, copy them and play them on an MP3 player or many types of modern mobile phones, or ‘burn’ them onto a CD. If you buy one, you will be given a link to a secure page where you can freely download:-
MP3 qualityQuestion:“”What is the bit rate, or audio quality, of the MP3s you sell?
Answer:
Note: Bit rate refers to the audio quality of the music file. A low bit rate means the file has been compressed very strongly: the file will be small and fast to download, but there might be very slight distortion or loss of detail in the music. A high bit rate means a larger file, but with the detail and quality of the sound preserved. “kbps” means “kilobytes per second”. It means resolution, the audio equivalent of the printing industry’s “dots per inch”. All our MP3s have a bit rate of 192 kbps. This is high quality: average MP3 bit rate is usually between 128 kbps and 160 kbps. 192 kbps is considered the benchmark bit rate for recordings that are comparable to CD quality, and the level of quality above which audio experts struggle or fail to notice any audible difference on high quality sound systems. Compared to leading commercial MP3 stores at time of writing, this is on a par with the variable bit rates used by eMusic (between 160 kbps and 224 kbps), and is higher than the 128 kbps AAC offered by Apple iTunes. 192 kbps is the bit rate used by Digital Audio Broadcasting. MP3 compatibility and DRMQuestion:“”Are there any restrictions on what I can do with an MP3 I buy from you? For example, DRM?
Answer:
DRM is “Digital Rights Management”. Some companies build it into the music they sell, to restrict what it is possible to do with this music. There are no built-in restrictions on what you can do with MP3s you buy from the Musical Remedies store. As with all copyrighted material, it is illegal for you to redistribute or alter the music without permission, but you can make as many copies for your personal use as you like. Some stores sell MP3s that are coded so as to restrict what you can do with them: we do not. Our MP3s are compatible with any MP3 player. Some stores sell music in formats that only work on certain types of player: we do not. Any modern music playing software, any MP3 player, and many types of modern mobile phone can play our MP3s. Any good CD writing software will enable you to copy them onto writeable CDs as either audio CDs that play on ordinary CD players, or high-volume MP3 CDs that play on many modern types of CD player.
